I hear many different stories about IP from entrepreneurs when we discuss getting a patent or some other form of intellectual property protection.
The most common story (believe it or not) is, "it's not something we thought about doing". Some other excuses being "it would be difficult to replicate what we are doing", or "we already have a customer base, we are miles ahead of the competition".
Those excuses won't prevent your competition from suing you and literally overnight, shutting down your business.
A friend of mine recently found out the hard way.
